Meyerhoff Show Horses

Big pats for Herr Winzig!
PC: Alex Banks

In addition to bringing what officially feels like fall, October has been a very busy month for Team Meyerhoff. Bobby spent the majority of his time focusing his attention on preparing the younger horses for the final events of 2017, and Danica has continued to prepare her string to close out the year. How is this season already nearly at a close?

Last weekend, Bobby rode his own Cabin Master and Emeline Gilbert's Herr Winzig at the Hagyard Midsouth Three Day Event at the Kentucky Horse Park in Lexington, Kentucky. The event was a terrific experience for these promising horses, and Bobby was thrilled with the way they handled the challenges and atmosphere that comes with competing at such a big venue.

Danica is competing throughout this week at Tryon International Equestrian Center, a world-class venue she feels very fortunate to have so close to home, and she looks forward to bringing her entire team with her. You can follow along with Tryon Results here.

As always, Bobby and Danica would like to extend a huge thank you to all of Meyerhoff Show Horses’ owners, sponsors, clients, friends, family, and everyone who continues to support them.

The start of the show season has been very busy for Meyerhoff Show Horses! Just a few weeks ago, Bobby took on the Plantation Field International competition with both Fortuna and Rascal Rap. Both horses contested the CIC2* division and after a long trip they settled in great at the fantastic venue. Everything from the weather, to the hospitality was top-notch and both horses stepped up to the plate and performed fantastically.

Bobby kicked off the weekend early on Wednesday and put in a superb test with Rascal Rap to score a 40.6 to sit in fourth in their division. Fortuna danced in the dressage arena on Thursday and tried extremely hard to earn a very respectable score as well. Both horses then show jumped extremely well with Fortuna jumping clean and Rascal Rap having one unfortunate rail over a very challenging course.

While Fortuna got her turn on the cross country course Sunday, Rascal Rap headed out of the start box first on Saturday. He had a fantastic round jumping clear and fast to hang onto his fourth place position. Bobby was thrilled with him and was looking forward to tackling the course again with Fortuna the next day.

On Sunday, Fortuna put on her game face and had a super round as well to come in clean and under the time to finish the weekend on her dressage score and bring home a top 10 finish! It was a great weekend for both horses, and Bobby couldn't have been more happy with them.

Now, Bobby will begin to prepare for the fall CCI's. Currently, Rascal Rap is entered in the CCI2* national championship at Fair Hill International, Bobby is extremely excited to compete at this prestigious event. He will be spending the next few weeks fine tuning his dressage, show jumping and cross country riding at home and riding some youngsters before tackling the big event.

These past few weeks have been very busy for Meyerhoff Show Horses! After Danica returned from the Atlanta Summerfest show, Bobby packed up and made the long drive up to Richland, Michigan for the Richland Park International Horse Trials. This trip is always worth the drive, as Richland is truly a destination event on the summer/fall calendar, and he was thrilled to be back here.

Cooling Rascal off is a team effort!

Bobby rode both Fortuna and Rascal Rap in the CIC2* division at Richland. After their great trips at the Windridge Horse Trials earlier in the month, both horses felt ready for the week ahead! They handled the trip well and kicked off the competition with gorgeous dressage tests to start the week on a high note, and both jumped clear show jumping rounds to put themselves in a fantastic position heading into cross country!

While Bobby elected to withdraw Fortuna before cross country and save her for another day, Rascal Rap stepped up to the challenge and tackled the course with ease. He jumped clear and only added a handful of time penalties to his dressage score to finish in fourth place in a massive division! Bobby was so proud of how well Rascal Rap handled the challenging course. It was a great kick off to the fall season, and Bobby is excited to see what's to come for these exciting youngsters.

As they celebrate their weekend, Bobby and Danica would like to extend a huge thank you to all of Meyerhoff Show Horses’ owners, sponsors, friends, family, and everyone who has supported them along the way. They’re excited to continue sharing their journey with each and every one of you!
